SINERTIPIKAHAN bilang urgent ni Pangulong Duterte ang panukalang batas na naglalayong magtayo ng hiwalay na ahensiya para sa mga overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
Partikular na inendorso ni Duterte ang Senate Bill No. 2234, o ang ‘An Act Creating the Department of Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos.’
Pangunahing may-akda ng Senate Bill 2234 ay si Senator Christophet “Bong” Go.
“This aims to provide a more efficient, whole-of-government approach to protect the rights and promote the welfare and interest of overseas Filipinos,” sabi ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
