SUPPORTERS identified with the Diehard Duterte Supporters (DDS) group are allegedly behind the moves to file an impeachment complaint against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., according to Malacañang.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said this assessment was based on reports claiming that a lawmaker had been approached to help push the impeachment bid.
Castro advised supporters of Vice President Sara Duterte to focus first on assisting their political leader before pursuing any impeachment move against the President.
“Sa mga supporter ng Bise Presidente na nais magsampa ng impeachment complaint, mas maganda siguro bago magturo ay tulungan muna nila ang idolo nila,” ani Castro.
She stressed that impeachment is a serious constitutional process and should not be treated as a media spectacle or used merely as a political threat.
Castro added that issues facing Vice President Duterte should first be addressed, including allegations involving the misuse of millions of pesos in confidential funds and claims of receiving large sums of money from drug personalities.
Castro said President Marcos remains prepared for any situation, noting that he respects the Constitution and established legal processes.
She further emphasized that the President did not steal public funds and instead ordered investigations into alleged irregularities in flood control projects, adding that he has no involvement in controversies such as the so-called “Mary Grace Piattos” issue.
