Cusi naghain ng P200M cyber libel sa iba’t ibang media entities

NAGHAIN nitong Biyernes si Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi ng P200 million cyber libel laban sa iba’t ibang media entities kaugnay ng umano’y libelous na artikulo na lumabas sa print at online tungkol sa pagbebenta ng share ng Malampaya gas field.

Kabilang sa mga kinasuhan ng dalawang counts ng cyber libel sa Taguig City Prosecutors Office ang Manila Bulletin Publishing Corporation, mga opisyal nito na sina Loreto Cabanes at Jel Santos; Jayemark Tordecilla at Ted Cordero at GMA New Media, Inc.; ang Philippine Business Daily Mirror Publishing Inc., kasama ang mga staff nito na sina Samuel Medenilla, Lenie Lectura at Lourdes Fernandez.

Samantala, apat na counts na cyber libel din ang inahain ni Cusi laban sa Philstar Global Corp., mga reporter at opisyal nito na sina Ian Nicolas Cigaral, Rhodina Villanueva, at Camille Diola.

Kinasuhan din ng isang count ng cyber libel ang ABS-CBN Corporation, ang presidente nito na si Carlo Katigbak at si Lynda Jumilla; ang opisyal ng Rappler, Inc. na sina Aika Rey, Maria Ressa, Glenda Gloria, at Chay Hofilena; at Businessworld Publishing Corporation, at mga empleyado na sina Wilfredo Reyes at Bianca Angelica Anago.

Sa kanyang reklamo, sinabi ni Cusi na nasira ang kanyang reputasyon dahil sa mga inilathalang mga artikulo.

“It will take years for me to recover from the reputational damage. I, therefore, pray the respondents are made to pay the damages I have suffered as a result posted over (Manila Bulletin, GMA News Online, Business Mirror, Philstar.com, ABS-CBN News.com, Rappler, and Businessworld) and its official Facebook page, and as published in its broadsheet,” sabi ni Cusi.
