“We should postpone your honor to allow more voters to vote and more voters to choose their leaders for the SK and the barangay elections,”sabi ni Garcia sa pagdinig ng House Committee on Appropriations.
“In the event the postponement will happen, and the event Congress will determine that the postponement will be held by May 2023, we will be needing P17,093,550 or there is a deficiency of P9,510,204. However, if the event that the election will be postponed and reset to December 2023, we will be needing P18,441,376 or a deficiency of P10,858,030,” esplika ni Garcia.
“I would disagree with (Cavite) Representative (Elpidio) Barzaga that the issue whether or not to postpone the election is over because he said 40 members of the House filed bills postponing the barangay and SK elections but you know, 40 members would only constitute 13 percent of the overall total of more than 300 members of the House, it is far from a majority. So, it is still an issue, so we are still going to deliberate in the plenary. I would make my reservation that I will be opposing the postponement of the barangay and Sk elections on the merits,” sabi ni Lagman.
