BINATIKOS ni Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero nitong Sabado ang “erratic at troubling behavior na ipinakita ni Vice President Sara Duterte matapos nitong pagbantaan ang buhay ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos at misis nitong si Liza Araneta-Marcos.
Dahil dito, nakiusap si Escudero sa mga kaibigan ni Duterte na mangyaring alalayan ito at iiwas ito na magbigay pa ng mga criminal statements sa publiko.
“I urge those who are close to her—those who truly care about her as a person and as a leader—to advise her to refrain from making these indecorous and possibly criminal statements in public. These do not benefit the Vice President, her office or our country,” ayon kay Escudero.
Payo pa ni Escudero kay Duterte na humingi ng tulong para maging kalmado upang magawa ng maayos ang kanyang trabaho bilang bise presidente.
“If she is struggling, I sincerely hope she seeks and is provided with the help she may need so she can regain calm and composure, and properly discharge her duties as Vice President,” dagdag pa ni Escudeo.
Nagpahayag din ng pagkabahala si Escudero nang marinig ang ginawang “pagbubunganga” ni Duterte.
“It is deeply concerning as they are inappropriate for an official occupying the second highest office of the land.”
Dagdag pa nito na responsibilidad ni Duterte na maging mabuting halimbawa sa bawat Pilipino, partikular na sa mga kabataan.
“The Vice President and her allies must also consider how her actions have contributed to rising tensions. I call on all parties involved to de-escalate the situation to prevent further harm to the safety, health and well-being of everyone involved,” pahayag pa ng opisyal.
Sinabi naman Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada na maaaring makatulong si Senador Imee Marcos para mapakalma si Duterte at para maresolba ang tension sa pagitan nito at ng pangulo.
“I’m just praying that they will reconcile because the people will be affected,” ani Estrada.
