IPINAGYAYABANG ng mga matataas na Chinese officials na ang China umano responsable sa pagkapanalo ni Pangulong Duterte sa eleksyon noong 2016, inihayag ni dating Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario.
Hindi naman pinangalanan ni del Rosario ang mga opisyal ng China, pero sinabi niya na galing ang impormasyon sa isang reliable na source.
“On Feb. 22, 2019, we received information from a most reliable international entity that high officials from China are bragging that they had been able to influence the 2016 Philippine elections so that Duterte would be president,” ani del Rosario sa isang forum.
“We believe that our Beijing post can easily validate this,” dagdag niya.
Sinabi ng dating opisyal na kung susuriin ang ang aksyon ni Duterte, marami ang maniniwala sa nasabing impormasyon.
“As early as May 15, 2018, our President proudly declared in Casiguran Bay in Aurora that Chinese President Xi Jinping has sworn to protect him from moves that will result in his removal from office,” sabi ni del Rosario.
