PINIRMAHAN ni Pangulong Duterte bilang ganap na batas ang Republic Act 11709 na nagtatakda ng tatlong taong termino para sa matataas na opisyal ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Sakop ng tatlong taong termino ang chief of staff, vice chief of staff, at deputy chief of staff ng AFP.
Sakop din ng tatlong tatlong termino ang mga commanding general ng Philippine Army at Philippine Air Force, flag officer in command, Philippine Navy, mga command commander at inspector general.
