TINANGGIHAN ni Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson ang alok ng opposition coalition 1Sambayan na makabilang siya sa mga nominado nito sa pagkapangulo para sa 2022 elections.
Sa sulat, ipinunto ni Lacson na tinatanggihan niya ang alok bunsod ng ginawang pagkondena sa kanya ng grupo dahil sa pag-sponsor niya sa Anti-Terrorism Law.
“It is my humble position to take it upon myself to graciously decline your invitation in honor of my personal and political convictions that I have consistently and unwaveringly adhered to, and in consideration of the supposed ‘inconsistency’ and ‘incongruence’ that these may entail to your political endeavors,” ani Lacson.

“I have been under the impression that 1Sambayan coalation has effectively precluded a possible association with this representation, since you made it clear…that it would be ‘inconsistent and ‘incongruous’ for the group to endorse, let alone, be identified with somebody who is one of the authors and the principal sponsor of the Anti-Terrorism Law'” dagdag ng senador.
