Suspected terror attack in New Orleans leaves 15 dead, dozens injured

IN a shocking start to the New Year, at least 15 people were killed and dozens injured early Wednesday morning when a driver deliberately rammed a rented pickup truck into a crowd celebrating on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.

The FBI is investigating the incident as an “act of terrorism.”

The attack occurred in the heart of the French Quarter, a lively area known for its nightlife and cultural significance.

Witnesses described chaos as the vehicle sped into the crowd, sending revelers scrambling for safety.

Authorities identified the suspect as a 42-year-old Texas man and Army veteran.

According to the FBI, the man, who was killed in a firefight with officers, had an ISIS flag in the vehicle. Officials revealed that he had made several video recordings prior to the attack, declaring allegiance to ISIS.
