PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has been included in Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2024.
Marcos was recognized for his efforts in steering the Philippines toward economic recovery following the onslaught of the coronavirus pandemic and elevating the country’s presence on the global stage.
At the same time, the magazine acknowledged the president’s initiatives in his stance on Philippine territorial integrity amid regional tensions.
In its 2024 Time 100 issue, the magazine noted the President’s determination to uplift his family’s legacy and the entire nation despite the prevailing challenges in the Philippines.
Other Philippine leaders who were featured in the list in previous years were Marcos’ predecessors Rodrigo Duterte in 2017 and Benigno Aquino III in 2013. (GP)
