CELEBRITY couple Sophie Albert and Vin Abrenica opened up about the challenges they face as parents, particularly in managing their daughter Avianna’s exposure to gadgets and online content.
In their recent vlog, the actress shared how they began noticing behavioral changes in their daughter, which they traced to some of the videos she had been watching on YouTube Kids.
“I noticed it was making her act not herself,” Sophie said. “She’s already at the age where she’s mimicking what she watches, and a lot of the shows being recommended aren’t really appropriate.”
Sophie said they tried to block inappropriate content repeatedly, but it kept resurfacing. “There’s just so many things that they show there that aren’t really for kids, and no matter how much we block, block, block and block, the same things still keep coming up,” she said.
The actress admitted that there were moments when they had to rely on gadgets to keep their daughter entertained, especially when both parents had work commitments.
As a result, the couple decided to significantly cut down Avianna’s screen time. “We decided to put an end to screen time. She gets to watch TV like 30 minutes a day,” she said.
Sophie said she shared their experience to connect with other parents who might be going through the same struggles. “I just wanted to share the screen time thing because I know it’s not really good for kids.”
