DRAG artist Pura Luka Vega brought good vibes to commuters during the “12 Days of Free Rides” on LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3, putting her own spin on Kid Cudi’s Maui Wowie.
In a video shared on her X account on Monday, December 22, Pura lip-synced along to the hit song Maui Wowie.
“Malalaman mo talaga kung ano ang tingin at pagkakaunawa ng tao sa pagiging bakla. Because what do you mean ‘Libreng sakay for the LGBTQIA+?’ Pero gow. Lahat tayo bakla on that day forda free ride. Keri ba mag SOGIE awareness din tayiz?” he said.
Aside from Pura, Akbayan Party-list Rep. Perci Cendaña also supported the initiative, which offered free rides to various sectors, including the LGBTQIA+ community.
The free ride event was organized by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive
