A NEW chapter in service and love began for two graduates of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Siklab-Laya” Class of 2025, after one of them proposed moments after the graduation ceremony.
Second Lieutenant Ferdenan Rees Macalay, 23, dropped to one knee and proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Second Lieutenant Remedios Racma Briones Lopez, 22, in front of their classmates, families and guests on May 17.
Macalay said he chose the special day to propose before they both officially begin their service as newly commissioned officers.
Lopez said yes to the proposal as their loved ones watched and cheered.
The couple said that while they look forward to married life, they will first fulfill their duty to the country.
