PAL, Cebu Pac, Air Asia offer Independence Day seat sales

THREE airline companies serving domestic flights are rolling out ticket sales in celebration of our country’s Independence Day, an encouraging sign that slowly, our aviation industry is getting back on its feet.

Starting with flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL), it invites air travelers to celebrate the freedom to fly via its Finally Free to Fly Independence Day Seat Sale 2022 with domestic fares (economy base fares) for as low as P188 and international fares (economy base fares) for as low as USD89 roundtrip.

PAL spokesperson Ma. Cielo Villaluna assures that independence seat sale tickets are covered by unlimited rebooking, adding that travelers have the freedom to fly to their destinations-of-choice at dropdown fares when they book their tickets from June 6-12, 2022.

Travel period is from August 1 – March 16, 2023 and the special offering covers flights to all Philippine domestic destinations and international destinations such as cities in Australia, Southeast Asia, Japan, Korea, Greater China.

For flights within the Philippines and to Asia, travel period is from August 1 – March 16, 2023 while travel period to North America and Middle East is from September 1, 2022 and onwards.

Cebu Pacific meanwhile launched its “P12 JUNEdependence sale” this #CEBSuperSeatFest, in an effort to encourage ‘everyJuan’ to fly more across its widest domestic network. From June 10 to 12, 2022, one can take advantage of booking tickets for as low as P12, one-way base fare, with a travel period from February 1 to May 31, 2023.

Passengers may choose to go on vacation to famous leisure destinations such as Cebu, Bohol, Siargao, Boracay, and Davao; or reunite with their loved ones in General Santos, Ozamiz, Surigao, Zamboanga, and Calbayog, says Candice Iyog, VP for Marketing and Customer Experience.

Aiming to go further, this #CEBSuperSeatFest also includes “SUPER” low rates to some international destinations as the airline ramps up its network outside the Philippines. Promo fares to Seoul, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Japan, among others, are also up for grabs during this three-day sale.

For its part, AirAsia Philippines vice president Carlo Carongoy announced that the airline is rolling out its “6.6 FREEDOM SALE,” allowing more Filipinos to win back their travel plans with loved ones, friends and family, in celebration of the 124th Philippine Independence Day.

The “6.6 FREEDOM SALE” allows guests to book a flight to their favorite local destinations such as Cebu, Zamboanga, Davao, Kalibo, Cagayan De Oro, Puerto Princesa, Tagbilaran and the recently launched route, Dumaguete for P66 one-way base fare only.

Spokesman Steve Dailisan said international travelers may get a 10 percent discount on any international destination when they use the promo code FREEDOM upon booking via airasia Super App. AirAsia Philippines currently flies to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia every Monday and Friday, and to Hong Kong every Saturday. The airline is set to resume its flights to Seoul, South Korea on June 14, with a tri-weekly flight schedule.

The 6.6 Freedom Sale lasts until the Philippines Independence Day celebration on June 12. The booking period is from June 6 to June 12, 2022 for travels happening between August 1 to December 8, 2022.

These are certainly good news for air passengers scouting for cheap fares.

Nanay: Ganda ng Rolex mo bunso, ah! Paano ka nagkaroon nyan?

Pedro: Napanalunan ko po sa karera, ‘nay.

Nanay: Talaga? Ilan kayong tumakbo?

Pedro: Tatlo lang po. ‘Yung pulis, yung may-ari at ako po.
