OVALTINE Philippines gave a senior citizen a one-year supply of their malted chocolate drink after she was scammed by a neighbor who made her work as a washerwoman and paid her with expired Ovaltine.
Ovaltine is a popular chocolate malt drink often served hot or cold and enjoyed by both kids and adults.
In a video posted on X, Ovaltine employees were seen visiting the woman, whose name was not revealed, bringing several boxes of the product.
The story went viral after the woman’s grandchild posted about what happened on social media.
“Kitang-kita ko kung paano n’yo bigyan ng puro expired na pagkain ang lola ko,” the grandchild wrote.
“Pinaglalaba n’yo maghapon kapalit ng expired na pagkain na tuwang-tuwa naman siya kase hindi niya alam.”
Netizens were quick to express outrage, while many praised Ovaltine for stepping in and helping the elderly woman.
