THE number of marriages in the Philippines fell in 2024, continuing a downward trend for the second straight year, according to new data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
From January to December 2024, only 371,825 marriages were recorded, down 10.2% from more than 414,000 in 2023 and still far from pre-pandemic levels.
February remained the most popular wedding month with 46,130 marriages, followed by June with 45,085 and December with 42,411.
Couples aged 25 to 29 accounted for the largest share of brides and grooms at 21.8% (81,121 marriages).
By region, CALABARZON logged the highest number of weddings at 54,981, followed by the National Capital Region (48,448) and Central Luzon (42,227).
The figures are based on registered marriages as of August 31, 2025, the PSA added.
