SINGER Carol Banawa has earned her Master of Science in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine in the United States.
In an Instagram post, Banawa shared her latest milestone and recalled her nearly two-decade journey in the medical field, which began when she worked as a certified nurse aide in Arizona in 2005.
She went on to earn her Licensed Practical Nurse certificate in 2010, followed by her associate degree in nursing in 2018 and a bachelor’s degree in 2020.
“When I began my master’s degree, the world was shutting down. The pandemic had just begun, and I was pregnant with Bella,” she wrote.
The former recording artist said balancing family life, school, and the demands of the pandemic was difficult, but she kept going.
“Dreams take time, sacrifice, and faith. But they are worth it,” she said.
Banawa was a popular singer in the early 2000s, best known for “Tanging Yaman,” “Bakit ‘Di Totohanin” and “Iingatan Ka.” She migrated to the US in 2003 and now lives there with her husband and children. She also served as a frontliner during the COVID-19 pandemic.
