Bride questions silver ring: ‘Am I not worth gold?’

A BRIDE-TO-BE has gone viral after opening up about feeling disappointed over the engagement ring her fiancé gave her because it was made of silver, not gold.

In an open letter posted on the Peso Sense Facebook page, the woman shared her honest thoughts after receiving the ring.

“Should I be upset dahil instead of a gold engagement ring ay silver ring po ang natanggap ko? Yes po, silver wedding ring ‘yung pang kasal na,” she wrote.

She said her disappointment stemmed from the fact that she knew her boyfriend could afford something better.

“I know he can afford to get me a gold engagement ring. One of the reason kaya na-upset ako is because I know gold is a stronger metal than silver. Mas nagla-last ang gold kaysa sa silver dahil ang silver madali magasgas at kumupas.”

Despite her feelings, she clarified that she deeply loves her partner.

“Don’t get me wrong, super love ko ang BF ko and ang saya ko kasi finally he proposed to me. Kaya lang, di ko akalain ma-upset ako ng dahil dito. Siguro I felt na I am not valuable enough to receive something special.”

She admitted she doesn’t know how to bring up the issue.

“Di ko alam sasabihin ko. I tried being OK with it. Should I say something to him about it? I appreciate the thought na nag-effort siya, kaso what he gave me is something that will not last.”

Her final question hit home with many online:

“Valid po ba yung nararamdaman ko na ‘to? Normal po ba ito?”
