AVON Philippines is calling on netizens to help them locate a breadwinner whose viral story about receiving a surprise gift from her mother moved thousands online.
The viral post originally came from Reddit and was later shared by the Facebook page “Klasik Titos and Titas of Manila.”
In the story, the anonymous uploader, a hardworking family provider, broke down in tears after finding a set of brand-new panties tucked in her bag, a surprise gift from her mother.
“Hindi ko napigilan humagulhol ako. Binili raw ni Mama, inipon niya sa mga natitira kong padala,” the uploader wrote.
She said she had been juggling work and side hustles to pay for her younger sibling’s graduation gift, motorcycle parts for her father, and a new cellphone for her mother. Because of her busy schedule, she only made it home during Holy Week and barely had time to unpack.
“Ang layo ko na! Ang layo na namin! Kaunti na lang, malapit na ako naniniwala ako,” she added, recalling how she once shared underwear with siblings growing up, and could never afford branded ones.
AVON posted a call for help on Facebook: “HELP US FIND ‘ATE’! We were moved by her story and we are actively looking for her since she posted on Reddit. Gusto namin siyang mapasaya,” the brand said.
As of writing, the woman has yet to be identified.
