TINAWAG na overacting o OA ng isang eksperto ang panawagang magpatupad ng lockdown matapos maitala sa bansa ang ika-apat na kaso ng monkeypox.
Sinabi ni Infectious diseases expert Dr. Rontgene Solante na wala pang dahilan para sa lockdown dahil sa monkeypox.
“That’s overacting in terms of lockdown as an option for monkeypox infection. Ang current cases natin are not enough yet to say na kailangan nating mag-lockdown. And we know monkeypox is not as highly transmissible as COVID. So, I don’t think a lockdown is the solution,” sinabi ni Solante.
Nauna nang sinabi ng Department of Health (DOH) na hindi bumiyahe ng labas ng bansa ang pinakahuling tinamaan ng bagong virus.
“It’s important to increase the awareness in these regions especially kung saan ang monkeypox ngayon in terms of the community, kung paano natin maiiwasan ang monkeypox, kapag pupunta sila sa mga doktor nila para at least makikita ng mga doktor at ma-diagnose sila, they will also be isolated to stop the human-to-human transmission,” dagdag ni Solante.
