THE Department of Health (DOH) reported a total of 6,457 cases of influenza-like illness (ILI) in the country from September 28 to October 11, 2025, a 39% decrease from the 10,740 cases recorded during the previous two-week period of September 14 to 27.
The figure is also 25% lower than the 8,628 cases recorded in the same period in 2024.
Despite the decline, the DOH stressed that the public should remain vigilant, as case numbers may change with ongoing monitoring.
DOH Secretary Ted Herbosa previously clarified that there is no outbreak and no lockdown is required due to the illness.
The DOH continues to advise the public to practice regular handwashing with soap and clean water, cover the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, maintain proper sleep and nutrition, and drink plenty of fluids.
Those experiencing fever, cough, or body and throat pains are urged to stay home, take appropriate medications, and consult a health center or hospital for proper evaluation and treatment.
