A FILIPINO emergency medical technician (EMT) based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) won AED100,000, or more than P1.5 million, in a recent lottery draw.
Sherwin Trinidad, who has been working as an EMT in Ajman for seven years, said he joined the lottery after seeing an ad about the jackpot on Google.
“Sinubukan ko lang,” he said in a video posted by The UAE Lottery.
Trinidad said he plans to use his winnings to build his dream house and start a business in the Philippines. He also hopes to help those in need, especially people with medical concerns.
“Tutulong din ako sa mga nangangailangan, lalo na ‘yung mga may medical needs,” he said.
To fellow bettors, he offered words of encouragement: “Just don’t lose hope. I’ve been there before. I thought I will never win this amount, but yeah, just don’t lose hope. Just keep on playing the game.”
