Quiboloy questions results, seeks manual tally of Senate votes

DETAINED Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader and senatorial candidate Apollo Quiboloy is calling for a manual recount of votes after failing to enter the top 12 in the Commission on Elections’ (Comelec) partial and unofficial count.

Quiboloy ranked 31st with 5,577,812 votes, based on the latest tally.

In a statement issued by his lawyer, Atty. Israelito Torreon, Quiboloy questioned the integrity of the results.

“On behalf of Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, we extend our sincere gratitude to the millions of Filipinos who supported his senatorial bid,” Torreon said.

“However, given the widespread reports of discrepancies in election returns, inconsistent firmware versions, and overvoting issues, Pastor Apollo respectfully calls for a full manual recount of the senatorial votes,” he added.

Quiboloy is currently detained as he faces multiple charges, including child and sexual abuse and human trafficking in both the Philippines and the United States.
