THE Kabataan Party-list welcomed the decision of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to suspend the proclamation of Duterte Youth.
“Deserve!” said Rep. and congresswoman-elect Atty. Renee Co after Comelec confirmed that Duterte Youth’s proclamation was deferred due to pending petitions.
“Suspension ng Duterte Youth is the first step doon sa matagal na clamor ng youth sector para sa kanilang disqualification,” Co added.
She said the Duterte Youth failed to represent the needs and demands of the youth sector during its six years in Congress.
Co said they hope the process leads to Duterte Youth’s full disqualification.
“We welcome this first step and of course we are guarded. So that the following steps until the disqualification persists,” she said.
On Monday, the Comelec confirmed the suspension of the proclamation of party-list groups Duterte Youth and Bagong Henerasyon pending resolution of cases filed against them.
