PBA legend James Yap gamely showed off his dance moves while campaigning for his second term as San Juan City councilor.
A video shared by his official fan page, YAPsters Club 18, showed Yap entertaining supporters during a campaign sortie in Barangay Balong Bato.
While his supporters cheered him on, netizens were divided over the video, with some questioning whether dancing should be part of a candidate’s campaign strategy.
Among the comments were:
“Sayaw sayawan nyo lng ang laking problemang hinaharap ng bansa? Pag nanalo uupo, makikinig, uuwi at mg pa sweldo ng pera ng taong bayan.”
“Sus itong mga kandidatong ito laging idinadaan sa pagsayaw. Ganyan ba gagawin nyo sa konseho?”

Yap is seeking a fresh mandate in the May elections after winning his first term in 2022.
