IN a meaningful homecoming, Brian Poe returned to San Carlos City, Pangasinan—the hometown of his grandfather, national icon Fernando Poe Jr. (FPJ)—to take his oath as a newly elected legislator.
The June 5 ceremony, held at the New Palaming Barangay Hall, was both a political milestone and a heartfelt tribute to FPJ’s legacy of public service.
Surrounded by local officials, community leaders, and supporters, Poe expressed deep gratitude to the people of San Carlos for their support.
“I chose to take my oath here in Palaming because I ran for you, not for myself,” Poe said.
“And I want to honor my grandfather’s legacy by serving with compassion and dedication.”
Barangay Chair Kevin George Calugay called Poe’s win a revival of “bayanihan” in Congress, highlighting his alignment with the FPJ Panday Bayanihan Party-list.
Poe vowed to prioritize education, healthcare, and social justice while creating economic opportunities for families in the region. “This is the party-list of San Carlos, the party-list of Palaming,” he declared, drawing cheers from residents.
The event closed with optimism, as locals welcomed Poe’s leadership and his promise to serve in the spirit of FPJ—leading with heart and purpose.
