Disqualification case vs Tulfo bros, kin junked

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) has dismissed the disqualification case filed against senatorial candidates, siblings Ben and Erwin Tulfo, and three other members of the Tulfo family.

The Comelec First Division issued the ruling on Tuesday, stating that the petition was “insufficient in form.”

It noted that petitioner Virgilio Garcia failed to provide copies of the respondents’ Certificates of Candidacy (COCs), which are crucial for verifying the allegations.

Additionally, the petition did not confirm whether proper service to the respondents was conducted.

The other respondents in the case include ACT-CIS Rep. Jocelyn Pua-Tulfo, Quezon City 2nd District Rep. Ralph Wendel Tulfo, and Turismo Party-list nominee Wanda Tulfo-Teo.

Garcia had argued that the respondents should be disqualified for allegedly forming a political dynasty, but the Comelec ruled to dismiss the case due to procedural deficiencies.
