ACTRESS and TV host Alex Gonzaga expressed her joy and pride as she celebrated her husband Mikee Morada’s victory in the Lipa vice mayoral race.
Gonzaga emphasized her husband’s genuine dedication to public service in a heartfelt post she shared on social media’s Instagram on Tuesday.
“Thank you, Lord Jesus! Thank you po, mga Lipeño!” she wrote.
She reflected on their emotional start to the year, saying, ““My husband and I started the year with sadness in our hearts. But little by little, I see how the Lipeños have helped to relieve his sadness and longing for something we have been wanting to have for a long time,” she said.
Although she did not go into details, many believed that she was referring to a third miscarriage she suffered in December 2024.
She praised her husband’s character: “You are so humble. You humbly asked for support, you politely showed your wholehearted dedication to service. That is the reason why we, the whole family, wholeheartedly supported and accompanied you even if you didn’t ask for help.”
“I am so proud of you, Mikee,” she added. “Your heart is truly for public service.”
Closing her post with humor, Gonzaga quipped, ““Sorry, sobra pong seryoso at drama pero ‘wag kayo mag-aalala dahil matutuloy na ang dobleng putukan namin ni Vice Mayor!”
Morada clinched the vice mayoral seat with over 139,000 votes, defeating rival Camille Lopez, who received more than 71,000 votes.
