ACTOR Wendell Ramos has officially withdrawn his candidacy for councilor of Manila’s District 4, citing work commitments and family matters.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Wendell said he had already decided to pull out of the race as early as January 31, 2025, when he filed his withdrawal before the Commission on Elections in Manila.
“After careful consideration and heartfelt discussions with my family, manager, and network, I have made the difficult decision to discontinue my campaign due to prior work commitments and family matters,” he said.
Wendell thanked his supporters for believing in him and his programs even before his withdrawal, saying their trust and encouragement “mean more than words can express.”
He also urged residents of Sampaloc, Manila, to “vote wisely and choose leaders who will genuinely serve” the district in the upcoming May 12 elections.
