UMAASA ang Department of Education na tataas ang honoraria para sa mga guro na magsisilbi sa 2022 elections.
“Although it is less than our proposed increase for our teachers who will serve as poll workers, we appreciate the adjusted rates, and we will coordinate with COMELEC for possible increase of the honoraria and other allowances and benefits,” ayon kay Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones.
Nitong Nob. 10, inilabas ng Comelec ang inaprubahang bagong honoraria at allowance na ibibigay sa mga bubuo ng Election Board at iba pang poll workers. Ang inaprubahang rate ay mas mababa sa nauna nang hiniling ng DepEd.
Inihirit ng DepEd ang bagong honoraria base sa Consumer Price Index and Inflation Rate nitong Enero 2021:
P9,000 – para sa chairperson
P8,000 – para EB members
P7,000 – para DepEd Supervisor Official
P5,000 – para sa support staff
Hiling din ng DepEd na bigyan ng health insurance coverage ang mga poll workers na tatamaan ng coronavirus.
Base sa inaprubahang Comelec Resolution No. 10727, ang mga guro na maglilingkod ay babayaran mula P3,000 hanggang P7,000, base sa kanilang posisyon.
