SINABI ng Palasyo na nababahala ang ulat na nagkaroon ng hacking sa server ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) na posibleng makaapekto sa 2022 elections.
“Obviously, we are worried about it if it is true,” sabi ni Acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles.
Idinagdag ni Nograles na hihintayin muna ng Palasyo ang magiging pahayag ng Comelec kaugnay sa ulat.
Unang napaulat sa Manila Bulletin na isang grupo umano ng hacker ang nakapasok sa server ng Comelec at nakapag-download ng mahigit 60 gigabytes na datos.
Nanawagan na rin si presidential candidate at Senador Manny Pacquiao na dapat magpaliwanag ang Comelec sa insidente dahil hindi ito ang unang beses na na-hack ang Comelec.
“Congress should exercise its oversight powers in relation to Republic Act 8436 or the Automated Election Law. This is not the first time that the Comelec has been hacked and this shows very serious security flaws on the poll body’s computer system,” sabi ni Pacquiao.
Maging si Vice President Leni Robrero na isa ring kandidato sa pagkapangulo at ang ka-tandem na si Senador Francis Pangilinan ay naaalarma sa insidente.
“We are alarmed by the news of an alleged hacking of Comelec servers. We ask Comelec to immediately confirm if it happened and the extent of the compromise involved,” ayon sa joint statement ng dalawang kandidato.
