IBINASURA ng Second Division of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang petisyon para kaselahin ang certificate of candidacy ng presidential aspirant at dating Senador Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Ito ang inanunsyo ng abogadong si Theodore Te, counsel ng mga petitioner na binubuo ng mga political detainees at human rights at medical organization.
“In essence, the Comelec agreed with the petitioners that the representations made in Item 11 and Box 22 of the COC of Marcos Jr. are material but disagreed that they were false; in the process, the Second Division ruled that there was no ground to cancel Marcos Jr.’s COC on the ground of material representation,” ayon sa tweet ni Te.
Ayon sa mga petitioner, hindi dapat makatakbo si Marcos Jr dahil convicted ito dahil sa hindi pagpa-file ng kanyang income tax returns noong 1995.
