NANINIWALA si Infectious Diseases Specialist Dr. Rontgene Solante na patungo na ang bansa sa endemic mula sa kasalukuyang pandemic sa harap ng pananalasa ng Omicron sa bansa.
“We are pivoting from the pandemic to endemicity approach…Ano ba ibig sabihin niyan, we will prioritize, manage those at high risk, not necessarily, the cases. We should be preventing mortality to vulnerable population,” sabi ni Solante sa panayam sa DZMM.
Idinagdag ni Solante na kailangang bigyang pansin ang mga vulnerable na populasyon kagaya ng mga matatanda at mga comorbidities dahil sila ang pwedeng tamaan ng malalang sakit.
“We target this population since even they have mild symptoms, they can still develop severe infection and can overwhelm the healthcare utilization,” aniya.
Aniya, maiiwasan ang mas malalang variant sa pamamagitan ng pagbabakuna at pagkakaroon ng immunity ng mga mamamayan.
“We live with it. Even you have symptoms, we know you will be okay but if you belong to vulnerable population, you need to be tested and treated to prevent progression of the disease,” ayon pa kay Solante.
