Sa isang panayam, sinabi ni Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles na dumami ang kaso ng Covid hindi lang sa Indonesia kundi sa iba pang bansa sa Southeast Asia dahil sa Delta variant, na unang na-detect sa India.
“We are giving emphasis on seaports as our neighboring country Indonesia is experiencing a surge in the COVID cases because of Delta variant infections. It has become the dominant variant in the said country,” sabi ni Nograles.
Aniya, dapat tiyakin ng mga lokal na otoridad na hindi makapupuslit nang iligal sa bansa ang mga nanggagaling sa Indonesia.
“We have to also watch our seaports that is why the Bureau of Quarantine, and all the agencies should be on the lookout, especially the Coast Guard, the Bureau of Immigration. We need to be extra alert, particularly in Mindanao the ensure those coming from Indonesia will not be able to reach our shores illegally,” dagdag ng opisyal. –WC
