SINAMPAHAN ng kaso ng Philippine National Police ang 52 katao na nagpakalat sa internet ng maling balita kaugnay sa Covid-19.
Ani PNP chief Guillermo Eleazar, kinasuhan ang mga pasaway na netizens ng online libel, paglabag sa anti-cybercrime law, at rumor-mongering and spreading of false information.
Ang Criminal Investigation and Detection Groupand the Anti-Cybercrime Group ang nagsampa ng kaso sa 52, dagdag ng opisyal.
“We are appealing to the public to be discerning and wary of fake news. This is also a stern warning to all individuals or groups spreading false information on various social media platforms. We will go after you and will not hesitate to put you behind bars,” ani Eleazar.
