SSS mobile app users steadily increasing; over 100M vaccines arrived inPH

RECOGNIZING that mobile technology is one of the new norms to provide easier and safer access to services and transactions, the Social Security System (SSS) recorded a staggering 35.27 million transactions and queries in SSS Mobile App from January to August 2021 alone.

SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Aurora Ignacio said the volume of transactions and queries is a clear indicator that more members and employers use the SSS Mobile App for their SSS transactions, especially during this pandemic.

The agency is continuously upgrading the SSS Mobile App to include additional services and to make sure that its functionalities are user-friendly to better serve its members and employers, anytime and anywhere.

As of August 2021, SSS recorded 9.37 million downloads of SSS Mobile App on Google Play Store, 8.85 million downloads on Huawei AppGallery and 1.25 million downloads on the Apple App Store. It is the third most downloaded free mobile application in the productivity category on Google Play Store, ranks second in the finance category on the Huawei AppGallery, and ranks fifth in the utilities category on Apple App Store.

Since its launch in 2018, the SSS Mobile App has facilitated a total of 109.73 million transactions and queries. Among the top three recorded member queries in the SSS Mobile App were salary loan balance, salary loan status, and maternity claim info. Moreover, the top transaction recorded under the member portal was PRN generation.

Member services available in the SSS Mobile App include access to membership information, that includes basic personal information, updating of contact information (Landline Number, Mobile Number, Email Address, Local/Foreign Mailing Address), and view of enrolled bank information; Inquiry on contributions, including total number of contributions posted, and total amount of contributions; Inquiry on loans, salary loan status and balance, and application for salary loan; Inquiry on status of benefit claims (sickness, maternity, retirement, disability claim info and EC medical status); Submission of Maternity Notification for self-employed, voluntary, non-working spouse, and Overseas Filipino Worker members; Generation of Payment Reference Numbers (PRNs) for contributions and payment for online payment channels (PayMaya, BPI,and G-Cash); and SSS Branch Locator.

Meanwhile, employers may also avail of the following services using the SSS Mobile App: access employer information, including updating of contact information (e-mail address, telephone and mobile number) and view of enrolled bank information; inquiry on contribution status, generation of PRN for contributions;Check the SSS and Employees’ Compensation (EC) contributions program of his/her employees;Inquiry on status of loans and loan payments; and Submission of sickness and maternity reimbursement claim.


OVER 100 MILLION COVID VACCINES PROCESSED—Based on the announcement made by the Bureau of Customs-Port of NAIA District Collector Mimel Talusan that they have already reached the 100-million mark when it comes to the clearance of anti-COVID vaccines. It only means that at least 50 million Filipinos have already been vaccinated.

On October 28, 2021 alone, they were able to process the release of 896,000 AstraZeneca and 976,950 Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines from Japan and Germany, respectively, bringing the running total number of vaccines cleared by the BOC-NAIA to 100,561,200 thus reaching the immediate goal of having 100-million vaccines in inventory.

Exactly eight months prior to the achievement was the arrival of the first batch of the life-saving shots containing 600,000 that arrived in the country particularly on February 28, 2021.

Talusan said that to date, she said eight vaccine brands were processed and cleared by the BOC-NAIA, namely: Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, Sputnik V, Hayat-Vax, and Sinopharm.

The Port of Naia has consistently supported the arrival of vaccines into the country from the dry-run activity of the IATF at the start of 2021 up to the arrival of 101st batch of vaccines which marked 100 million dozes of COVID-19 vaccine.

Congrats to the BOC-NAIA for the efforts aimed at aiding the country achieve at the soonest time possible the much-desired herd immunity.
