High time for house-to-house vaccination

THE mob that swarmed several vaccination sites last week is the Filipino people way of telling their government that they want to be vaccinated. And that is the time to seriously consider the house-to-house vaccination of residents in their respective communities.

We all saw with great concern the pandemonium brought by the confusion and misinformation that drove thousands of people to several vaccination sites and risk themselves and their families to the virus.

Nakatanggap daw sila ng impormasyon na hindi sila bibigyan ng ayuda at hindi maaaring makapagtrabaho ngayong lockdown kapag hindi sila bakunado.

Considering the virulence of the Delta variant of COVID19 now sweeping the country, this incident is unacceptable because it is a super spreader event that would cause more infections.

Thousands of people drove to several vaccination sites in Manila, Marikina, Las Piñas and Quezon Cities and demanded that they be vaccinated without undergoing the prior appointment procedure.

It is time for the IATF to seriously consider the house-to-house vaccination of our people to avoid the repeat of this unruly incident we witnessed at several vaccination sites.

I believe the majority of Filipinos are now willing to be vaccinated, and therefore, they must be vaccinated in their own respective communities.

I am convinced that the public, particularly the workers’ sectors are now willing to be vaccinated after realizing and seeing that only a few suffer mild side effects after receiving vaccines, aside from the fact that vaccine is one of the best protections that they could have against the virus.

The government should listen to the people speaking or else…
