QC thanks Ramon Ang for flood aid offer

THE Quezon City government thanked San Miguel Corp. president and CEO Ramon Ang for offering to help address Metro Manila’s flooding woes.

In a statement, the city said it welcomes collaboration with both government agencies and the private sector to safeguard residents.

QC noted that many national roads, waterways, and infrastructure projects run through the city, and that it closely coordinates with the DPWH, DOTr, and MMDA on public safety.

The city is implementing a Drainage Master Plan (DMP), a science-based program identifying factors behind flooding, including uneven elevation, clogged drainage, and undersized pipes.

It also warned that narrowing rivers without flood control measures could worsen flooding elsewhere, and urged all agencies, private partners, and contractors to work toward a comprehensive, science-driven solution.
