TINIYAK ni Pangulong Duterte na magiging operational na ang Metro Rail Transit 7 (MRT-7) sa huling bahagi ng 2022.
“The project is more than 60 percent complete and we are committed to make it partially operational by the Fourth Quarter of 2022,” sabi ni Duterte matapos pangunahan ang pagsasapubliko ng mga bagong tren na gagamitin sa MRT-7.
Bukod kay Duterte dumalo rin sa pagpapasinaya sa Tandang Sora, Quezon City sina Senador Christopher “Bong” Go, Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade at San Miguel Corporation (SMC) president Ramon S. Ang.
“We can proudly say that this new Metro Rail Transit System, which spans more than 24 kilometers from North Avenue in Quezon City to San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan, is a world-class mode of transportation for the benefit of the people,” dagdag ni Duterte.
Nagkakahalaga ang proyekto ng MRT-7 ng P77 bilyon na pinondohan sa pamamagitan ng Public and Private Partnership kasama ang SMC sa ilalim ng Build-Transfer-Operate Arrangement, na may concession period ng 25 taon.
