A LAW student from De La Salle University in Bonifacio Global City who had been missing since June 8 was found dead on Saturday in Naic, Cavite.
The victim, identified as 25-year-old Anthony Granada, was last seen boarding a Grab ride from his condominium unit along C-5 Road in Taguig. The trip was bound for Naic Town Plaza.
“He was just calm during the trip,” said Col. Rodel Pastor, officer-in-charge of the Taguig police, citing the testimony of the Grab driver.
CCTV footage later showed Granada walking alone on Lopez Jaena Bridge in Naic at around 9:20 p.m. on June 17.
On Saturday, local police in Naic received a report about a body found in an advanced state of decomposition in a vacant lot in Brgy. Sapa.
Granada’s brother, Ricky, positively identified the remains.
Investigators have ruled out foul play in the incident.
In a Facebook post, Ricky said: “Anthony has been found, but sadly, he is now with our Creator. On behalf of our family, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered support, prayers, and concern during this painful time. Your kindness has brought comfort to us.”
The Granada family has requested privacy as they mourn their loss.
