THE Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced free rides on LRT-2 from June 25 to 26, following a technical glitch that disrupted operations early Wednesday.
Train service was limited to the Cubao-Recto-Cubao route after issues were detected in Transformers 5 and 6 located between the Santolan and Anonas stations, according to LRTA Administrator Atty. Hernando Cabrera.
Cabrera said Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon ordered the fare-free rides as technicians worked to restore full operations. The LRTA expects repairs to be completed within the day.
To ease the impact of the limited service, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) also deployed free bus rides between Antipolo and Cubao stations.
