VICE President Sara Duterte said she is prepared to assume the presidency if circumstances require it, amid corruption issues and talk of destabilization affecting the Marcos administration.
In an interview with reporters on Tuesday, November 25, Duterte said her mandate as vice president is clear.
“Of course, there’s no question about my readiness,” she said. “I presented myself to you when I was a candidate for vice president, with the understanding that I am the first in line in succession.”
She added: “Wala nang tanong doon kung ano ang gagawin ko. ‘Yon ang mandate sa akin ng Constitution. At alam ko ‘yon nung ako ay tumakbo. At binoto n’yo ako knowing I’m in the first in line.”
