VICE President Sara Duterte extended her warmest greetings to the Muslim community in celebration of Eid al-Adha, emphasizing the timeless values of sacrifice, faith, and compassion that the occasion symbolizes.
In her statement, Duterte reminded the public that Eid al-Adha is more than a celebration, but a powerful call to embody courage, generosity and empathy – especially during these challenging times.
“Isang maligaya, pinagpala, at makabuluhang Eid al-Adha sa ating mga kapatid sa pananampalatayang Islam,” she said.
“Ang diwa ng Eid al-Adha ay nagsisilbing paalala ng lakas ng loob, pagbibigayan, at malasakit sa kapwa—mga katangiang lubhang mahalaga sa kasalukuyang panahon,” Duterte stated.
Her message also emphasized unity and respect as the foundation of national solidarity: “Ang aking pakikiisa sa inyo ay pinagtitibay ng kapatiran, paggalang, at pagtanggap.”
Duterte called on Filipinos to accept the blessings of Allah in all seasons, and to dedicate all efforts to God, the country, and every Filipino family.
“Tanggapin sana natin ang biyaya ni Allah sa lahat ng panahon. Eid Mubarak! Ang lahat ng ginagawa natin ay para sa Diyos, sa Bayan, at sa bawat Pamilyang Pilipino,” she added.
Eid al-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is one of the two major Islamic holidays. It commemorates the unwavering faith of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah.
