Teves transfer to Bilibid set – NBI

FORMER Negros Oriental 3rd District Rep. Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr. will be transferred to the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said Friday.

Teves, who is currently detained at the NBI headquarters in Manila, will be presented to the media before his transfer.

The NBI explained that the former lawmaker must be moved to the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) facility as its office does not have a permanent detention facility.

Teves fled the Philippines in March 2023 shortly after being linked to the assassination of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.

He was later designated a terrorist by the Anti-Terrorism Council and charged with multiple counts of murder.

Authorities have named him the alleged mastermind in the Degamo slay and other killings in the province.

He was arrested in Timor-Leste in March 2024  but was not immediately deported due to a series of legal and procedural developments in said country.
