SUSPENDIDO pa rin ang nagtatagong si Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves ng 60 araw dahil sa kanyang unauthorized na pagliban sa Kamara at disorderly conduct sa hindi paggampan sa kanyang trabaho.
Sa isinagawang plenary votes nitong Miyerkules, 285 ang bumoto pabor para siya ay suspendihin ng 60 na araw pa. Wala ring kumontra at nag-abstain sa rekomendasyon ng House committee on ethics and privileges.
Ayon sa report ng komite, sinabi nito na “the unauthorized absences of Rep. A. Teves Jr., aggravated by his act of political asylum in Timor-Leste, resulted in his failure to perform his duties as House Member.”
“His actions and all its consequences have compromised the integrity of the House of Representatives and constitute disorderly behavior warranting disciplinary action,” dagdag pa nito.
Dahil sa suspensyon, suspendido rin ang lahat ng kanyang rights and privileges bilang miyembro ng Kamara. Wala na rin siyang membership sa iba’t ibang komite.
Si Teves ang itinuturong mastermind sa pagpatay kay Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo noong Marso.
