BUMUO na ang Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) ng Task Force Naujan Oil Spill matapos lumubog ang isang fuel tanker sa karagatan ng Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.
Itinalaga ni Environment Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga si DENR Undersecretary at Chief of Staff Marilou Emi bilang pinuno ng Task Force.
Si Emi ang nagsilbing corporate ground response coordinator sa nangyaring Guimaras Oil Spill noong 2006.
Kabilang sa miyembro ng task force ay sina Undersecretary Jonas Leones, Undersecretary Juan Miguel Cuna, Assistant Secretary and concurrent Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Director Gilbert Gonzales, Assistant Secretary and concurrent Biodiversity Management Bureau (BMB) Director Marcial Amaro Jr., Regional Executive Director Lormelyn Claudio, Provincial Environment Natural Resources (PENRO) Officer Alma Gibe at City Environment and Natural Resources (CENR) Officer Rodel Boyles at mga kinatawan ng mga kaukulang lokal na pamahalaan. Nauna nang kinumpirma ng Philippine Coast Guard na tuluyan nang lumubog ang MT Princess Empress, na naglalaman ng 800,000 litro ng industrialized fuel oil.
Ayon sa DENR, 21 locally-managed marine protected areas (LMMPAs) ang posibleng maapektuhan ng oil spill.
Samantala, kinumpirma ng PCG na may halo nang industrial fuel ang oil spill sa katubigan.
