INAMIN ni Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero na pag-aari niya ang itim na SUV may No. 7 protocol plate na dumaan sa Edsa Carousel Bus Lane sa Ortigas.
Nilinaw naman ni Escudero na hindi siya sakay ng SUV nang harangin ito ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) personnel sa northbound lane ng bus lane.
Dagdag niya, minamaneho ang sasakyan ng driver ng kanyang kapamilya.
“The use of the protocol plate was unauthorized, as the vehicle was being driven by the driver of a family member. The No. 7 protocol plate was also abused because vehicles with these plates are not allowed to use bus lanes,” pag-amin ni Escudero.
Ayon sa senador, inutusan na niya ang kanyang driver na humarap sa MMDA, sagutin ang inisyu na show-cause order at harapin ang anumang parusa sa paglabag.
“I do not personally use the protocol license plates issued to me, and forthwith the protocol plates involved in the incident will be surrendered to the LTO,” sambit pa niya.
Humingi naman ng paumanhin si Escudero sa publiko at sa mga kapwa senador sa pangyayari.
“Moving forward, I commit to ensure that the protocol plates entrusted to me are used appropriately, consistent with the provisions of Executive Order No. 56, s. 2024,” aniya pa.
