IPINAGTANGGOL ni House Secretary General Reginald Velasco ang P20 milyong budget na gagastusin ng pamahalaan para sa ikatlong State of the Nation Address ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Sa isang kalatas, sinabi ni Velasco na masusing pinag-aralan ang bawat sentimong inilaan ng pamahalaan para sa SONA.
“As Secretary General of the House of Representatives, I want to assure the public that we are committed to transparency and responsibility in spending public funds,” ayon kay Velasco.
Paliwanag nito na kaya may ganitong kalaking budget ay dahil ang gagawing SONA ay “with highest standards, reflecting our dedication to serving the people with integrity and accountability.”
Bukod dito, ang P20 milyon anya ay budget mula sa preparasyon na nagsimula noong Marso 12 hanggang sa maisagawa ang SONA.
“This figure is an estimate and has not yet been fully expended. The budget covers a range of essential expenses to ensure the event’s success, beginning from March 12, 2024, when the SONA Task Force was created,” anya pa.
Kasama sa pinaglaanan ng gastos ay ang pagkain at inumin ng mga personnel na in-charge sa preparasyon, unipome para sa may 2,000 Secretariat employees na hindi lang sa SONA gagamitin kundi maging sa day-to-day na gawain nila matapos ang event.
Kasama rin dito ang budget para sa security, invitation, giveaways, rental para LED walls, iba pang mga equipment, dekorasyon, collaterals, communication requirements, medical support at iba pang mga gastusin.
