NAGHAIN ng petisyon ang Office of the Solicitor General sa Manila Regional Trial Court laban sa suspendidong Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo.
Sa kanilang 46-pahinang quo warranto petition, hiniling nga abogado ng gobyerno sa Manila RTC Branch 34 na ideklara si Guo na ineligible para humawak ng posisyon sa gobyerno.
Ang quo warranto petition ay inihahain para solusyunan ang kwestyunableng kwalipikasyon ng isang indibidwal na humahawak ng isang public office.
Ayon kay Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra si Guo “is unlawfully holding the position and illegally exercising the duties and responsibilities of the Office of the Mayor of Bamban, Tarlac.”
“(S)he is not a Filipino citizen. She is a Chinese national. Thus, she is ineligible to run for any elective public office,” Guevarra said. “(S)he has committed acts which, by provision of law, constitute a ground for the forfeiture of her office. More specifically, she has committed acts of serious dishonesty which, under the local government code, warrant her removal from office.”
Nahaharap si Guo at iba pang indibidwal sa kasong human trafficiking sa Department of Justice.
