Shoes in Napolcom case found fake?

QUESTIONS have emerged over a complaint filed by the National Police Commission (Napolcom) against retired PNP Health Service chief Brig. Gen. Jezebel Imelda Medina after documents circulating at Camp Crame indicated that the shoes cited in the case were not as expensive as initially claimed.

Based on copies of receipts and online listings now making the rounds, the controversial shoes allegedly worth P70,599 were purchased for only $33.96, or a little over P2,000, from an online shop.

Medina was charged by Napolcom with less grave neglect of duty and conduct unbecoming of a police officer over the footwear, a case that could affect her retirement benefits if proven.

She officially retired from the Philippine National Police on December 25, 2025, but records show that the complaint was filed two days earlier, on December 23.

Napolcom Vice Chairperson Rafael Vicente Calinisan, who initiated the complaint, has yet to comment on the development
